Key Qualifications:
- Current and valid licensure as an Assistive Technology Specialist
- Experience working with students in grades K-5, 6-8, and 9-12
- Proven skill in implementing and adapting assistive technology within educational settings
- Expertise in transcribing braille for both instructional staff and students
- Comfort providing focused 1:1 student support
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
- Experience consulting with TVIs and interdisciplinary school teams is highly valued
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate directly with TVIs to ensure accessible learning materials for visually impaired students
- Accurately transcribe classroom content, resources, and assignments into braille
- Assist individual students in utilizing assistive technology tools and devices
- Evaluate student needs and recommend tailored technology solutions
- Offer training, guidance, and troubleshooting for both students and staff
- Maintain documentation of services provided and progress achieved
