In this full-time, contract position located near Murrieta, CA, you will make a meaningful difference every day by supporting learners with unique needs in an inclusive, energetic environment.
Your primary focus will be on 1:1 support with students, transcribing braille for both Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI) and their students, ensuring accessible and equitable learning experiences. As a licensed professional, you’ll collaborate closely with educators and families to empower students to reach their full potential.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid licensure/certification as an Assistive Technology Specialist or relevant field required
- Experience working across Grades K–12, with knowledge of age-appropriate strategies and technology adaptations
- Demonstrated expertise supporting students individually (1:1)
- Proficiency in braille transcription and using assistive tech devices/platforms
- Ability to partner with multidisciplinary teams, including TVIs, classroom teachers, and administrators
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Transcribe instructional materials into braille to meet the needs of students and TVIs
- Deliver direct, individualized support to students utilizing assistive technology devices and services
- Stay current with evolving technologies and recommend adaptive solutions
- Provide training, guidance, and troubleshooting to both staff and students on assistive technology use
- Support documentation and progress monitoring for assigned students
- Contribute to educational planning to optimize learning accessibility
This position spans the entire year, with time off only during major holiday breaks—ensuring steady, consistent support throughout the academic calendar.
