Step into an impactful role supporting students across grades K-12 as an Assistive Technology Specialist in a dynamic school setting. In this full-time, full-year contract position, you’ll play a critical part in enhancing accessibility for learners by providing direct 1:1 support and specialized technology solutions. Your expertise will make a tangible difference, empowering students to thrive academically and personally.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid licensure as an Assistive Technology Specialist
  • Experience working with students in grades K-5, 6-8, and 9-12
  • Previous 1:1 support of students utilizing assistive technology
  • Proficiency in transcribing braille for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI) and students
  • Strong understanding of adaptive technology tools and their applications in an educational environment
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills, working effectively with teachers, students, and families

Role Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and implement appropriate assistive technology devices and software for students with diverse needs
  • Provide individualized support to students in the classroom, ensuring access to curriculum and learning materials
  • Transcribe braille materials for TVIs and students to facilitate total participation
  • Educate staff and family members on the usage of assistive technology tools
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as necessary
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with educational standards and policies
