Essential Qualifications:
- Active licensure as an Assistive Technology Specialist or related educational credential
- Experience working 1:1 with students in grades K-5, 6-8, and 9-12
- Proficiency in assistive technologies commonly used in educational settings
- Strong command of transcribing educational materials into braille for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI) and students
- Solid understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodations for visually impaired learners
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary educational teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalized support to students, ensuring assistive technology devices and software are effective and accessible
- Transcribe a variety of educational content into braille to aid visually impaired students and TVIs
- Provide ongoing training and technical expertise to students, educators, and support staff on adaptive devices
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and timely completion of assigned tasks
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of accessible instructional plans
- Stay current on emerging assistive technologies to enhance student learning experiences
