Step into a rewarding role making a meaningful difference as an Assistive Technology Specialist supporting elementary students in a one-to-one setting. You'll play an essential part in empowering students with unique communication needs, working full time Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM – 2:15 PM (32.5 hours per week), on a contract basis.

Key Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

  • Background working as an Assistive Technology Specialist, ideally in elementary school settings
  • Demonstrated experience supporting students who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices
  • Knowledge of a broad range of assistive technology (AT) tools that enhance communication and access to learning
  • Ability to collaborate closely with classroom teachers and related service professionals to implement communication supports
  • Understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and student-centered technology integration
  • Patient, flexible, and proactive approach to problem-solving and supporting diverse learners

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct, individualized assistance to a student using AAC devices, ensuring access to classroom activities and instruction
  • Set up, troubleshoot, and maintain assistive technology equipment and devices
  • Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families on the selection and adaptation of appropriate AT tools
  • Train students, staff, and caregivers on the effective use of AAC devices and customized technology solutions
  • Document student progress, modify strategies as needed, and contribute input at IEP meetings
