1:1 Elementary Assistive Technology Therapist Specialist in Simi Valley, CA

You’ll provide essential support in a school setting, located conveniently near Simi Valley, CA. Your expertise with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices and a strong working knowledge of adaptive technology tools will help students overcome classroom barriers and thrive academically.

What You'll Bring:

• Proven experience supporting students with AAC devices
• Familiarity with a wide range of assistive technology (AT) tools designed to enhance communication and instructional access
• Strong collaborative skills to consult and train teachers, staff, and families on technology implementation
• Ability to create, monitor, and adjust individualized support plans for elementary learners
• Adaptability and problem-solving skills in dynamic situations
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Work directly with students on a 1:1 basis to assess, implement, and troubleshoot assistive technology solutions
• Partner with educators and therapists in developing and refining intervention strategies
• Provide ongoing support, maintenance, and training related to AAC and AT tools
• Monitor and record student progress, reporting outcomes and adapting interventions as needed
• Stay current on the latest advances in assistive technology and recommend updates or enhancements

Enjoy a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, 7:45 AM – 2:15 PM (32.5 hours per week), allowing for work-life balance while making a daily difference in students’ lives.
