Empower individual student success by providing crucial assistive technology support in an elementary school setting. This full-time contract position focuses on 1:1 collaboration with a student, ensuring access to learning opportunities and meaningful communication throughout the school day.

Your expertise with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices, paired with a passion for integrating assistive technology, will be central to fostering a supportive, inclusive environment. This position offers consistent hours, Monday through Friday, from 7:45 AM to 2:15 PM (32.5 hours per week).

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Prior experience as an Assistive Technology Specialist, especially in an educational setting.
  • Proven success supporting students using AAC devices.
  • Familiarity with a range of assistive technology tools to promote communication and classroom engagement.
  • Knowledge of best practices for integrating AT in instruction.
  • Adaptability, strong collaboration skills, and a student-centered approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct, 1:1 technology support for a student throughout the school day.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain AAC devices, ensuring consistent functionality.
  • Facilitate training for staff and students on device usage.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech-language pathologists, and support staff to develop and implement strategies that optimize student participation.
  • Document student progress and adapt support plans as needed.
  • Stay informed about new AT and AAC tools and approaches to enhance student success.
