Support a positive learning environment while providing essential care for a young student with significant medical needs. In this full-time opportunity, you will work within a public school setting assisting a kindergarten student who uses a wheelchair and requires a high level of medical support. This contract assignment is for 32.5 hours per week and is expected to run from September through mid-November, with the possibility of extension through the school year.
Schedule:
- Full-time, 32.5 hours per week
- School hours, Monday through Friday
- Initial contract: September – November (2½ months), potential to extend
Qualifications:
- Current CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification required
- Experience supporting pediatric patients and/or working in a school environment preferred
- Strong understanding of wheelchair mobility and high acuity, individualized care
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, school nurses, and families
- Compassionate, patient, and professional demeanor with children
- CPR certification highly desired
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one care to a kindergarten student with significant medical needs
- Assist with mobility, positioning, and activities of daily living
- Support feeding, toileting, and hygiene needs as directed
- Monitor the student’s medical condition and promptly communicate changes to nurses and staff
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment
- Maintain accurate and confidential daily documentation
