Support a positive learning environment while providing essential care for a young student with significant medical needs. In this full-time opportunity, you will work within a public school setting assisting a kindergarten student who uses a wheelchair and requires a high level of medical support. This contract assignment is for 32.5 hours per week and is expected to run from September through mid-November, with the possibility of extension through the school year.

Schedule:

  • Full-time, 32.5 hours per week
  • School hours, Monday through Friday
  • Initial contract: September – November (2½ months), potential to extend

Qualifications:

  • Current CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification required
  • Experience supporting pediatric patients and/or working in a school environment preferred
  • Strong understanding of wheelchair mobility and high acuity, individualized care
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers, school nurses, and families
  • Compassionate, patient, and professional demeanor with children
  • CPR certification highly desired

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one care to a kindergarten student with significant medical needs
  • Assist with mobility, positioning, and activities of daily living
  • Support feeding, toileting, and hygiene needs as directed
  • Monitor the student’s medical condition and promptly communicate changes to nurses and staff
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment
  • Maintain accurate and confidential daily documentation
