1:1 Pediatric 1:1 Certified Nursing Assistant in Newport News, VA

Support pediatric care and make a direct impact on a child’s daily health by working as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a one-on-one capacity with a student. This rewarding, contract-based role focuses on ensuring the student receives the highest standard of care and attention throughout the school day.

Schedule/Hours:

• Assignment based on the student's school hours
• Potential for additional support outside of regular class times as needed

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Current CNA certification in good standing
• Prior experience working in a pediatric environment, especially in 1:1 care settings
• Ability to communicate effectively with children, caregivers, and educational staff
• Compassionate, patient demeanor with a focus on safety and well-being
• Current CPR certification (required)
• Ability to consistently maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA standards

Responsibilities:

• Offer direct, individualized assistance to the assigned student throughout their school day
• Monitor vital signs and observe for any changes in health status
• Assist with activities of daily living, including mobility, hygiene, feeding, and toileting as required
• Ensure a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for the student within the educational setting
• Communicate health updates and concerns promptly to families and the broader care team
• Maintain accurate, thorough documentation of care provided and observations
• Attend meetings or consultations with educational and healthcare professionals as requested
