Certified Nursing Assistant in North Adams, MA

A fulfilling opportunity is available for a skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to provide essential care in a school environment. This full-time contract position supports a kindergarten student with significant medical needs who uses a wheelchair. The assignment is for 32.5 hours per week, covering approximately two and a half months from September through November, with the possibility of extension through the full academic year.

Schedule:

• Full-time, 32.5 hours per week
• School day hours, Monday through Friday

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver attentive, one-on-one care to a kindergarten student requiring a high level of medical support during the school day.
• Monitor and assist with mobility, hygiene, and other personal care needs.
• Support daily routines, classroom activities, and transitions, ensuring safety at all times.
• Communicate closely with school staff, healthcare professionals, and parents regarding the student’s needs and progress.
• Maintain accurate records of care provided and promptly report changes in the student’s condition.

Required Qualifications:

• Active CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) license.
• Experience working with children or in an educational setting is highly desired.
• Knowledge of medical protocols and experience supporting individuals with high medical needs.
• Excellent communication and observational skills.
• Ability to provide compassionate, patient-focused care in a school setting.
