Support a positive and impactful educational environment by providing essential care to a young student as a Certified Nursing Assistant in a school setting. This role involves working closely with a kindergarten student who uses a wheelchair and requires high-level medical support. You'll contribute meaningfully to the student's inclusion and well-being throughout the school day.

Position Details:

  • Full-time, 32.5 hours per week
  • Schedule: Short-term assignment (September through mid-November), with potential extension through the full school year

Qualifications:

  • Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
  • Experience working with pediatric populations, especially children with physical and medical needs, is highly preferred
  • Skilled in supporting students who use wheelchairs and require frequent or advanced medical assistance during the school day
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team of educators and medical professionals
  • Compassionate, patient, and committed to supporting the unique needs of children in a school setting
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to respond calmly in challenging situations

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care and monitoring for the assigned kindergarten student throughout the school day
  • Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning in accordance with safety protocols
  • Support personal care needs such as toileting, feeding, and hygiene
  • Implement prescribed medical plans under the supervision of school health staff
  • Foster a nurturing, respectful, and inclusive environment for the student
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of care provided
