A fantastic opportunity is available for a Certified Nursing Assistant seeking to make a meaningful impact in a supportive educational environment. This position involves working directly with a kindergarten-aged student who uses a wheelchair and has significant medical needs. The role is full-time, with 32.5 hours per week, providing coverage from September through November, with potential to extend through the school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one care and support to a young student with complex medical requirements within the school setting
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning using appropriate techniques
- Monitor the student’s health status and promptly respond to medical needs throughout the school day
- Collaborate closely with school nurses, teachers, and support staff to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Support daily living and classroom participation, respecting the child’s dignity and privacy
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and any health-related incidents
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Active CNA license required
- Previous experience with pediatric care, preferably in a school or educational setting
- Knowledge and demonstrated skill in supporting children with physical disabilities and high-level medical needs
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and school personnel
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable working style
