A six-month assignment is available for a Health Information Management (HIM) Manager, providing key leadership in overseeing the daily operations of the HIM department and serving as the designated Privacy Officer. This contract offers full-time hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and is ideal for professionals seeking a travel opportunity with a weekly pay range of $2,700 – $3,000.
Schedule:
- 40 hours per week
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
- Six-month contract duration
Qualifications:
- At least two years of experience in medical coding
- Strong working knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security requirements, medical record management, and release of information standards
- Recognized healthcare privacy, compliance, coding, or HIM certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or a related field preferred
- Previous HIM leadership experience and familiarity with Critical Access Hospital or Rural Health Clinic regulations strongly desired
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct daily management of health information workflows, coding, chart completion, and information release
- Oversee department budgeting, staffing, productivity, and compliance
- Serve as the organization’s Privacy Officer, leading privacy investigations, breach assessments, audits, and required reporting
- Develop and maintain compliance policies, documentation standards, and privacy-related education
- Collaborate with IT, Compliance, HR, financial, and clinical teams to ensure optimal operations and compliance across all functions
- Act as custodian for medical records and ensure organizational transparency and confidentiality
