Health Information Manager in Clyde Park, MT

Step into a pivotal management role overseeing health information operations and privacy for a dynamic healthcare setting. This full-time opportunity is a six-month contract and offers a weekly pay range of $2700–$3000, ideal for professionals seeking an impactful assignment in the field of Health Information Management (HIM).

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
• 40 hours per week (1.0 FTE)

Essential Qualifications:

• At least two years of medical coding experience.
• Previous Health Information Management leadership and familiarity with privacy and compliance standards.
• In-depth understanding of HIPAA Privacy and Security, release of information, confidentiality, medical records management, and health information regulations.
• Recognized certification in healthcare privacy, compliance, coding, or HIM (e.g., CHPS, CHPC, CHC, CPCO), or willingness to obtain such certification promptly.
• Clear communicator with critical thinking and analytical skills.

Preferred Experience:

• Degree in Health Information Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Background in privacy investigations, breach assessments, release of information auditing, or HIPAA education.
• Experience in Critical Access Hospitals or Rural Health Clinics.

Core Responsibilities:

• Direct daily HIM department operations: managing medical records, information release, coding, patient portal workflows, and compliance.
• Lead as Privacy Officer, ensuring HIPAA and privacy program compliance.
• Develop, implement, and update policies and procedures for health information security.
• Oversee budget, productivity, staffing, department quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Review privacy breaches, lead investigations, manage incident reporting and corrective action.
• Collaborate with IT, Compliance, HR, financial services, and clinical leadership.
• Support ongoing compliance education and training for department staff.
