An opportunity is available for a skilled professional with expertise in Imaging as a Cath Lab Tech. This contract position is ideal for individuals with a passion for delivering top-quality cardiovascular care and experience working in dynamic clinical environments.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology or equivalent
- Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) certification required
- Prior experience as a Cath Lab Tech in a hospital or clinical setting
- Thorough understanding of cardiac anatomy, angiographic procedures, and sterile techniques
- Advanced knowledge of imaging equipment operation and maintenance
- Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to act quickly during emergent situations
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities for working with multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain the cardiovascular catheterization laboratory for diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Operate imaging equipment and monitor patient vital signs throughout procedures
- Assist physicians during diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic cardiac procedures
- Ensure patient safety and comfort while providing clear procedural explanations
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Document procedure details, prepare images, and input data accurately into hospital systems
- Monitor supplies and equipment, ensuring readiness and timely restocking as needed
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives
