Play a crucial role in advancing cardiac care as a Cath Lab Tech, supporting complex and life-saving procedures in a dynamic hospital environment. Your expertise will directly contribute to the success of cardiac catheterizations and other interventional procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety each step of the way.
Schedule/Hours:
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- 40 hours per week; four 10-hour shifts
- Weekend coverage as needed
- Holiday coverage required (1 summer and 1 winter)
- On-call required: 7-10 shifts
- No float required
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year recent experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab setting
- Direct experience placing permanent pacemakers highly preferred
- Proficiency with Impella devices and balloon pumps required
- Preferred experience with Mac Lab and EPIC documentation systems
- Current BLS certification
- Valid Radiology certification
- Knowledge of and ability to wear green scrub color
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare sterile trays and equipment for each procedure
- Assist physicians and nurses with cardiac catheterizations, angioplasties, atherectomies, and additional interventional procedures
- Ensure patient prep—including EKG attachment and sterile draping—follows strict protocol
- Calibrate, test, and troubleshoot all Cath Lab monitoring and imaging equipment
- Operate and maintain digital imaging systems, adhering to data management protocols
- Assist with the management of emergency situations, vascular access, and inventory needs
- Support maintenance and quality assurance for all diagnostic equipment
- Clearly communicate with patients and caregivers, adapting care for developmental, cultural, or sensory needs
