Key Qualifications:
- Experience operating CT imaging equipment in a healthcare or hospital setting
- Proficiency in general diagnostic radiology, with specialized knowledge of computerized tomographic procedures
- Knowledge of radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles
- Ability to administer intravenous contrast media and monitor for patient reactions
- Skilled in using PACS and Radiology Information Systems (RIS) for image management and documentation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including patient education and teamwork
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Registered and Certified CT Technologist credentials required
Key Responsibilities:
- Explain CT examination procedures and prepare patients for scans
- Review clinical data, requisitions, and confirm medical histories
- Set up procedure rooms, maintain adequate supplies, and ensure appropriate equipment function
- Perform CT scans, manually control equipment, and analyze imaging results
- Safely administer contrast media, monitor patients, and respond to any adverse reactions
- Assist radiologists with complex and sterile procedures, including biopsies
- Rigorously implement radiation protection protocols for both patients and staff
- Resolve image issues within PACS, assure quality, and complete accurate study documentation in RIS
- Uphold standards of excellence, open communication, and respect for diversity in all interactions
