Step into a vital role specializing in computed tomography (CT) imaging, working within a collaborative healthcare environment. This contract position calls for a skilled professional who provides compassionate patient care while performing a variety of specialized CT and diagnostic radiological procedures.
Key Qualifications:
- Certification and active registration as a CT Technologist.
- Proficiency in CT imaging, including the use of computerized tomographic equipment.
- Experience with general diagnostic radiology is a plus.
- Ability to administer intravenous contrast media and monitor for patient reactions.
- Strong understanding of radiation protection principles and ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) techniques.
- Familiarity with PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) and RIS (Radiology Information System) operations.
- Excellent communication skills, with a commitment to patient education and reassurance.
- Team-oriented approach, consistently demonstrating professionalism and respect for colleagues and patients.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Educate and prepare patients for CT exams, explaining procedures clearly.
- Review patient clinical data and requisitions to determine appropriate imaging studies.
- Set up equipment, replenish necessary supplies, and maintain procedure rooms.
- Analyze each patient's anatomy, selecting proper equipment settings for effective image acquisition.
- Administer contrast media, monitor patient status, and respond promptly to adverse reactions.
- Assist in sterile procedures, such as biopsies, in collaboration with radiologists.
- Ensure image quality, appropriately upload and index studies in PACS and RIS.
- Follow clinical protocols and maintain meticulous documentation in medical and radiology information systems.
- Embody standards of excellence, positive communication, and continuous innovation in day-to-day practice.
