Skilled imaging professionals are needed to provide exceptional patient care and technical expertise in CT and CT/PET procedures. This contract role requires flexibility, reliability, and a proactive approach to meeting the needs of a busy imaging department. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality diagnostic studies while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and dignity.
Schedule:
- Wednesday to Friday, 7:00 am – 7:30 pm
- Night shift coverage
Qualifications and Experience:
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Current ARRT-R (Radiography) and ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography) credentials
- Current BLS certification (or equivalent)
- At least 1 year of experience in Radiology; CT experience preferred but not required
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Capacity to work independently and as part of a team, even under pressure
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
- Competency in CT protocols, patient positioning, and radiation safety
- Proficiency in performing quality control tests and adherence to regulatory standards
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a range of CT and CT/PET exams in accordance with departmental protocols
- Obtain and verify clinical histories, assess contraindications, and ensure patient identification
- Apply proper techniques to minimize radiation exposure while maintaining image quality
- Thoroughly explain procedures and address questions or concerns from patients and families
- Prepare and position patients for imaging, monitor during procedures, and maintain patient comfort
- Respond to emergency situations, assist with life support equipment and crash cart maintenance
- Assist colleagues across modalities and actively participate in training and orientation for new staff
- Ensure all images are reviewed for quality and accurately transferred to PACS
- Maintain equipment cleanliness, manage inventory, and support overall workflow efficiency
