A rewarding opportunity is available for a skilled CT/PET Technologist to provide exceptional diagnostic imaging services for adult inpatient and outpatient populations, with occasional pediatric outpatients and emergency department cases. This role offers a contract assignment at a distinguished 492-bed facility renowned as a Level II Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, and Level III NICU.
Schedule:
- 3 x 12-hour shifts
- Friday through Sunday
Qualifications:
- Current ARRT certification required; ARRT-CT credential needed for CT roles
- Valid BLS certification
- State license preferred
- Proficiency with CT biopsy drainage, trauma imaging, angiograms required
- Strongly preferred: Stroke perfusion experience
- Experience with Cerner EMR and GE CT equipment
- One year of strong, relevant experience accepted for travelers (minimum two years required for first-time travelers)
- Flexibility to float within various areas of the main Radiology department
Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of CT and PET scans for a diverse patient population, averaging 4 patients per hour
- Accurately assess and position patients for optimal imaging results
- Work collaboratively with physicians and nursing staff to maintain quality standards for diagnostic imaging
- Deliver care consistent with Level II Trauma Center protocols
- Maintain detailed records and documentation using Cerner EMR
- Adhere to all safety, infection control, and patient privacy regulations
- Support the radiology department by floating to different sections as staffing needs arise
Orientation and Training:
- One 8-hour hospital orientation session
- 2-3 shifts of on-unit training alongside another technologist (dayshift)
Additional Details:
- Patient ratios typically 1:1, with a daily average of 40 patients
- Holiday coverage required per policy (one major and one minor holiday as expected)
- Voluntary on-call with a typical weekend rotation once monthly
