Excel in a dynamic medical imaging environment as a CT specialist, utilizing advanced technology to provide essential diagnostic support. This contract position offers a structured block schedule, including 7:00 pm – 7:00 am shifts and every other weekend, with no on-call obligations, ensuring a predictable and focused work-life balance.
Qualifications:
- Active ARRT (CT) certification and BLS required
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a CT technologist
- Proficiency with GE, OEC – C-arms, and Carestream Portables preferred
- Strong understanding of radiation safety and ALARA principles
- Excellent communication skills and ability to foster a positive, inclusive environment
- Capable of working independently with consistent attention to detail and patient care
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality computerized tomographic studies under general supervision, with the ability to conduct standard radiology exams as needed
- Educate and prepare patients, clearly explaining imaging procedures and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process
- Review requisitions and patient history, obtaining supplemental information for optimal imaging results
- Administer intravenous contrast media, using power injectors and providing immediate care for any patient reactions
- Prepare imaging rooms and maintain necessary sterile supplies and equipment
- Support radiologists with complex diagnostic procedures, including biopsies
- Apply principles of radiation protection, using proper equipment settings to minimize exposure
- Ensure accurate image delivery and documentation within PACS and RIS
- Collaborate effectively with team members, demonstrating standards of service, open communication, and respect for diversity
