Schedule/Hours:
- 3 x 12-hour shifts
- Flexible, various shifts (including weekends and holidays on a rotating basis)
As a Cardiac Sonographer, you'll work under the direct guidance of department managers or lead sonographers, providing critical cardiac imaging services. This hands-on position enables you to expand your clinical expertise, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and strengthen your resume with experiences in adult, pediatric, transesophageal, and stress echocardiography.
Responsibilities:
- Verify and prepare clinician orders and review patient clinical history
- Perform and assess echocardiograms, including measurements and calculations
- Communicate preliminary findings to interpreting physicians when requested
- Administer Ultrasound Enhancing Agents and saline bubble studies as needed
- Maintain excellence in patient safety, privacy, and comfort throughout all procedures
- Participate in patient education, departmental orientation, and training
- Oversee equipment functionality and adhere to infection control protocols
- Support the department by assisting in related clerical and operational tasks
- Remain flexible to take call and work weekends/holidays as scheduled
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED required, trade school or related degree preferred
- Must hold ARDMS, RCS (CCI), or RDCS certifications; BLS certification required
- At least 1 year of echocardiography experience OR recent program graduate
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-based setting
- Attention to detail, independence, accountability, and a positive, flexible attitude
