Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain echocardiography equipment, ensuring accurate imaging of cardiac structures, chambers, valves, and blood flow.
- Conduct a range of echocardiogram studies, including transthoracic and, where applicable, transesophageal procedures.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to interpret findings and relay critical information.
- Record, document, and prepare concise, accurate reports using hospital information systems.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety and infection control protocols at all times.
- Educate and reassure patients throughout the procedure for a comfortable and efficient experience.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Technology with a specialty in echocardiography.
- Current credentialing (i.e., RDCS, RCS, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
- Minimum one year of experience as an echo technologist in a hospital or clinical imaging setting.
- Proficiency in imaging software, digital archiving, and reporting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate collaboration and patient interaction.
- Thorough understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology as demonstrated by prior experience.
