A skilled Cardiac Sonographer is needed to perform comprehensive cardiac imaging in a dynamic healthcare setting. This travel position based in Marietta, GA, offers the opportunity to work with a variety of patients including adult, pediatric, and structural heart cases using state-of-the-art echocardiography techniques. The role requires detailed assessment, accurate measurements, and collaboration with physicians to provide timely preliminary findings. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and rotating on-call shifts is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform adult, pediatric, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms accurately and efficiently.
- Administer Ultrasound Enhancing Agents (UEA) and saline bubble studies per protocol.
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy, while clearly communicating exam procedures.
- Review and archive imaging data, maintain calibration and infection control standards.
- Assist and collaborate with the healthcare team to provide exceptional patient care.
- Participate in orientation, training, and departmental quality improvement initiatives.
- Manage scheduling and documentation to meet hospital and Joint Commission standards.
- Perform clerical tasks, restock supplies, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required; Diagnostic Medical Sonography degree preferred.
- Required certifications: ARDMS, RCS, RDCS, or equivalent cardiac sonography registration.
- Current BLS certification.
- Minimum 1 year echocardiography experience preferred; 2 years hospital experience highly desirable.
- Strong communication, multitasking, and independent judgment abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to accommodate variable shifts with some weekends, holidays, and shared on-call duties.
