Qualifications & Experience:

  • Completion of an accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field
  • Current registration as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year of hands-on experience in performing echocardiograms
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology
  • Proficiency with imaging equipment and digital reporting systems
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to physicians and patients
  • Commitment to patient safety and maintaining confidentiality

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and document echocardiograms, including 2D, M-Mode, color flow Doppler, and stress echocardiography as ordered by physicians
  • Ensure image quality and accuracy for diagnostic interpretation
  • Prepare patients and explain imaging procedures to ensure comfort and cooperation
  • Maintain clean, well-functioning equipment while adhering to safety protocols
  • Collaborate with medical staff to relay findings and support patient treatment plans
  • Keep accurate records of procedures and maintain department standards
  • Stay updated on industry advancements and contribute to department improvement initiatives
