Qualifications & Experience:
- Completion of an accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field
- Current registration as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or equivalent
- Minimum of one year of hands-on experience in performing echocardiograms
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology
- Proficiency with imaging equipment and digital reporting systems
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to physicians and patients
- Commitment to patient safety and maintaining confidentiality
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct and document echocardiograms, including 2D, M-Mode, color flow Doppler, and stress echocardiography as ordered by physicians
- Ensure image quality and accuracy for diagnostic interpretation
- Prepare patients and explain imaging procedures to ensure comfort and cooperation
- Maintain clean, well-functioning equipment while adhering to safety protocols
- Collaborate with medical staff to relay findings and support patient treatment plans
- Keep accurate records of procedures and maintain department standards
- Stay updated on industry advancements and contribute to department improvement initiatives
