Interventional Radiology Technologist - Dearborn, MI

Seeking a skilled Imaging Interventional Radiology Technologist with expertise in IR procedures for a contract assignment. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with radiologists to perform complex, invasive imaging designed to assist in the diagnosis of pathological conditions.

Schedule/Hours:

• 8:00am – 4:30pm
• On-call required (one weekend every 6 weeks, Monday–Friday evenings every 6 weeks; rotation varies with department needs)

Qualifications:

• Active ARRT certification required (Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI) preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Demonstrated experience in interventional radiology procedures strongly preferred
• Proven knowledge of radiation protection standards, sterile technique, and appropriate contrast media use
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain procedures and provide compassionate patient care

Key Responsibilities:

• Explain examination procedures to patients and gather relevant medical history
• Prepare prescribed contrast media, medications, and IV solutions
• Collaborate with the radiologist, assisting during invasive procedures
• Set up and maintain sterile environment and required imaging equipment
• Assess patient condition before, during, and after procedures
• Operate imaging equipment to ensure high-quality diagnostic results
• Adhere to radiation safety and ALARA principles
• Troubleshoot image exceptions, ensuring timely, accurate delivery to PACS
• Complete all documentation in medical records and radiology information systems
• Maintain inventory of medical supplies, replenishing as needed
• Support training of new personnel or students assigned to the division
• Uphold standards of professionalism and teamwork, embracing diversity and open communication
