A skilled Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist is sought for a contract opportunity in a dynamic hospital radiology department. This role supports specialized diagnostic and interventional vascular, as well as neuro-interventional cases, requiring both technical expertise and collaborative teamwork within a busy clinical setting.

Schedule and Hours:

  • 3 twelve-hour shifts or 4 ten-hour shifts per week
  • On-call required every fourth weekend and one weekday on-call per week
  • 36 hours per week, part-time basis

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 3-5 years’ experience as an Interventional Radiologic Technologist or Cardiovascular Technologist
  • Active NJ radiographic licensure
  • Current Radiography (R) certification with ARRT
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association or equivalent, with demonstrated skills in basic life support
  • High school diploma/GED and Associate degree OR completion of an accredited radiographic program

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist proceduralists during complex interventional and neuro-interventional cases, providing scrub-side support
  • Operate both floor and ceiling-mounted fluoroscopic modality equipment
  • Circulate and manage complex medical devices and products during procedures
  • Critically assess and anticipate needs during interventional procedures, especially neuro-interventional cases
  • Safely perform power injection of contrast media
  • Uphold sterile technique and infection prevention protocols; set up procedural trays efficiently
  • Collaborate positively with nurses, radiologists, and surgeons as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Document procedures in electronic medical records and transmit images via Sectra/PACs
  • Provide post-intervention groin management and ensure patient safety
  • Deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced environment utilizing exceptional communication and closed-loop feedback
