Interventional Radiologic Technologist - Sterling Heights, MI

Advance your expertise in interventional radiology with a rewarding contract opportunity for a skilled IR Technologist. Work closely with experienced radiologists, specializing in invasive imaging procedures that play a vital role in patient diagnosis and treatment.

Schedule/Hours:

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
• On-call rotation required
• One weekend on-call every six weeks
• Monday–Friday evening on-call every six weeks (rotation based on volume and scheduling needs)

Qualifications:

• Active BLS certification required
• Current ARRT certification is mandatory
• Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI) credential preferred
• Proven experience as an IR Tech or in interventional imaging environments
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, patient preparation, and radiation safety procedures

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for examinations, explaining procedures and obtaining relevant medical histories
• Administer prescribed contrast media, medications, and IV solutions as directed
• Coordinate closely with radiologists during complex diagnostic invasive procedures, ensuring all sterile equipment and supplies are available and properly maintained
• Operate imaging equipment to capture diagnostic images, while adhering to best practices for radiation safety and patient care
• Monitor patients’ status before, during, and after procedures, prioritizing comfort and safety
• Maintain detailed documentation in medical records and radiology information systems
• Perform Quality Assurance tasks, address PACS image exceptions, and complete RIS study indexing to support clinical and administrative functions
• Mentor and assist new personnel or students assigned to the department
• Uphold high standards of communication, teamwork, and professionalism in all interactions
