This contract opportunity focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered procedures under the direction of a Radiologist. The schedule is structured to support work/life balance: standard hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with required on-call coverage—one weekend every six weeks and Monday-Friday evenings every six weeks, based on volume and scheduling needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Current ARRT certification required; Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI) preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Foundational experience in both general Imaging and IR Tech duties
- Familiarity with sterile technique and operation of specialized radiographic equipment
- Ability to participate actively in an on-call rotation
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities:
- Explain procedures and prepare patients, ensuring comfort and understanding
- Gather relevant medical history and review clinical data before procedures
- Set up, calibrate, and operate imaging equipment, applying radiation safety principles
- Prepare, administer, and manage contrast media, IV solutions, and medications as prescribed
- Assist the Radiologist during diagnostic and invasive procedures
- Maintain inventory and proper storage of all equipment and supplies
- Perform and document pre-, intra-, and post-procedure patient assessments
- Resolve image exceptions and ensure accurate, high-quality uploads to PACS
- Accurately index and document studies in the Radiology Information System
- Maintain high standards of communication, professionalism, and patient care
- Support orientation and training of new team members or students as needed
- Adhere to established departmental protocols and quality assurance processes
