Interventional Radiologic Technologist in Waterbury, CT

Qualifications:

• Current certification as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) with specialization in Interventional Radiology (IR) preferred
• Valid state license as required
• Previous experience in an interventional radiology setting or similar imaging department
• Proficiency in operating IR-specific imaging equipment and following sterile technique protocols
• Strong understanding of patient safety standards and radiation safety practices
• Excellent communication skills and an ability to collaborate efficiently with physicians and clinical team members
• BLS certification required

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and position patients for interventional radiology procedures to ensure comfort and accuracy
• Operate specialized IR imaging equipment and assist the interventional radiologist during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Maintain and monitor equipment, ensuring functionality and compliance with safety regulations
• Document patient history, imaging procedures, and other relevant information accurately in the medical record
• Observe and maintain aseptic technique throughout all procedures
• Provide patient education and address any concerns regarding the imaging process
• Support inventory management of supplies and assist in maintaining a well-organized work area
