An opportunity is available for an experienced Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist to support a Level 1 Trauma Center located in Winston-Salem, NC. This contract position offers the chance to work in a high-acuity, academic medical center known for its comprehensive stroke and chest pain care programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scrub and assist physicians during interventional radiology procedures, including complex embolizations, thrombectomies, biopsies, sclerotherapy, and neuro interventions.
  • Circulate by operating imaging equipment and providing necessary supplies to ensure smooth procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with a team of providers including three neurosurgeons, one neuroradiologist, and multiple advanced practice providers (APPs).
  • Maintain accurate documentation and support patient care logistics within the department using the EPIC Encompass EMR system.
  • Participate in departmental functions such as room turnover and inventory through coordination with tech extenders and nursing staff.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of dedicated IR experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center, preferably with both body and neuro cases.
  • Current BLS certification and ARRT-R or RCIS credentials.
  • Proficiency with Siemens, GE, and Philips imaging systems and GE ultrasound units.
  • Comfortable supporting new graduates and participating in preceptorship when needed.
  • Ability to work varied shifts with required call responsibilities, including 3-4 call days monthly and weekend rotation every 5th-6th week.

Schedule & Call Details:

  • Shift options: 3 x 12-hour shifts, 4 x 10-hour shifts (8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.), or 5 x 8-hour shifts (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
  • On-call expectations include coverage during evenings, weekends, and approximately 75% of holidays when scheduled.
