This contract opportunity seeks a Diagnostic Mammography / Radiology Technologist with a strong foundation in imaging and patient care, dedicated to performing high-quality screening and diagnostic procedures in alignment with established protocols.
Schedule/Hours:
- Full-time, contract-based assignment
- Must be available for call assignments as required
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct screening and diagnostic mammography exams following protocol and ALARA radiation safety principles
- Ensure precise patient positioning, image quality, and adherence to all safety standards
- Coordinate imaging procedures with radiologists and multidisciplinary imaging teams
- Retrieve and compare prior mammography studies as part of patient assessment
- Educate patients on breast health and self-examination techniques
- Support bone density scanning and assist with CT, general X-ray, and fluoroscopy/OR imaging as needed
- Participate in quality control, departmental committees, and outreach for mammography services
- Provide technical support and act as a resource for breast imaging practice
Required Qualifications:
- Current ARRT registration in Radiography and Mammography
- Active California Radiologic Technologist License & Mammographic Technologist License
- California Fluoroscopic Radiologic Technologist License
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification
- California Venipuncture Certificate (or willingness to obtain within three months of hire)
- Minimum 5 years of mammography technologist experience
- Physical ability to stand and walk 4-6 hours/day, lift up to 35 pounds, and perform duties requiring bending and balance
- Willingness to provide care across the lifespan and work with exposure risks per clinical environment
