As a skilled mammography technologist, your expertise is essential in providing exceptional breast imaging services and comprehensive patient care. This contract opportunity spans 13 weeks and offers a structured weekday schedule with no on-call, weekend, or holiday shifts required.
Schedule:
- 5x8 hour shifts
- Monday through Friday, daytime hours
Required Credentials and Skills:
- Current ARRT(M) certification
- Valid Kansas state license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience in imaging, specifically mammography
- Proficiency with Meditech EMR preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform physician-ordered mammography procedures using advanced radiographic equipment
- Demonstrate mastery in all routine and specialized breast imaging techniques, including additional, spot compression, and magnification views
- Clearly explain procedures and answer patient questions to ensure comfort and understanding
- Ensure timely patient communication and accurate documentation in accordance with MQSA/FDA/ACR requirements, including recall/reminder letters and biopsy reports
- Critically evaluate image quality, obtaining supplemental images as needed
- Record procedures and supplies in the hospital billing system
- Provide routine preventive maintenance and monitor imaging equipment performance
- Conduct and document quality control processes
- Support quality assurance initiatives and maintain compliance for ACR and FDA accreditation
- Assist in managing statistical data, reports, and daily caseload preparation
- Collaborate as a valued member of the imaging department, stepping in as a Radiology Tech when mammography work is not required
