Qualifications and Experience:

  • Completion of an accredited MRI Technology program
  • Valid ARRT (MRI) or equivalent certification required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MRI physics, safety protocols, and standard practices
  • Minimum of one year of MRI technologist experience preferred
  • Proficiency with MRI equipment, PACS systems, and electronic health records
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced setting

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operate MRI equipment to produce quality diagnostic images according to physician orders and established protocols
  • Prepare patients for scans, explaining procedures, screening for contraindications, and ensuring comfort and safety
  • Monitor patients throughout procedures, maintaining adherence to safety procedures and proper positioning
  • Review images for clarity and diagnostic utility, collaborating with radiologists for image interpretation
  • Maintain accurate records of procedures and report any equipment malfunctions or issues
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, hospital policies, and infection prevention measures
  • Assist in training and orientation of junior staff or students as needed
