Qualifications:
- Valid MRI Technologist certification (ARRT (MR) or equivalent)
- Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program
- Current state licensure as applicable
- Minimum one year of recent experience operating MRI scanners in a healthcare setting
- Strong knowledge of MRI safety protocols and cross-sectional anatomy
- Proficient with electronic medical records and imaging management systems
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a medical team
- BLS certification
Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality MRI scans for both inpatient and outpatient populations, utilizing appropriate protocols for each study ordered
- Screen patients and staff for MRI safety and contraindications
- Prepare patients for procedures, explaining processes and addressing questions to promote comfort and cooperation
- Operate and maintain MRI equipment, ensuring optimal function and image clarity
- Accurately document patient information, exam findings, and relevant data in electronic health records
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals for timely communication of imaging results
- Monitor patient condition throughout the procedure, including emergency response if necessary
- Adhere to infection control and patient privacy regulations
