Key Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program with specialized MRI training
  • ARRT (MRI) certification or eligibility preferred
  • Valid state technologist license (or ability to obtain)
  • Proven experience performing MRI procedures and operating advanced MRI equipment
  • Strong knowledge of MRI safety standards and infection control practices
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to explain procedures clearly to patients
  • Commitment to maintaining patient privacy and accuracy in documentation

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and position patients for MRI scans, ensuring comfort and accuracy
  • Interpret physician orders and tailor imaging protocols to specific diagnostic needs
  • Operate and troubleshoot MRI machines, consistently producing high-quality images
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols for patients and staff, including managing contraindications for MRI procedures
  • Document procedures and patient information accurately within electronic health records
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure diagnostic images meet clinical requirements
  • Provide supportive care, addressing patient questions and concerns throughout the imaging process
