Key Qualifications:

  • ARRT (MRI) or equivalent certification required
  • Proven experience operating MRI scanners and related imaging equipment
  • Thorough understanding of MRI safety protocols for patients and staff
  • Ability to position and comfort patients thoughtfully to ensure optimal image quality
  • Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and collaborating with healthcare teams
  • Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting abilities
  • Up-to-date BLS certification

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and document MRI procedures in accordance with physician orders and departmental guidelines
  • Screen patients for appropriate indications and contraindications, confirming safety prior to scans
  • Educate and reassure patients throughout the imaging process, addressing questions and concerns
  • Monitor imaging equipment for proper function, reporting any technical issues promptly
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to infection control policies
  • Accurately record patient data and procedure details in the electronic medical record system
