Requirements and Desired Experience:
- Proficient in MRI imaging and safety protocols
- Ability to position patients according to radiologist protocols, including the placement of specialized coils (e.g., head or knee coil)
- Strong communication skills for instructing patients and collaborating with the healthcare team
- Experience with entering detailed imaging data and patient histories into computerized systems
- Keen attention to safety, particularly with MRI magnet hazards
Schedule:
- Contract-based with flexible scheduling; details discussed during the interview process
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare and position patients on examination tables, ensuring comfort and adherence to imaging protocols
- Demonstrate and utilize intercom systems to maintain clear communication with patients during scans
- Accurately input patient history and anatomical information, adjusting scan orientation and entry locations as specified
- Execute scan sequences and manage MRI transmitters and receivers, ensuring all settings meet the prescribed protocols
- Continuously monitor patient safety and comfort from the control room using observation windows and video systems
- Review imaging results on display screens, verifying the clarity and quality of all scans
- Safeguard team and patient safety by warning staff of the risks associated with magnet rooms and preventing inadvertent entry with metal objects
- Complete additional tasks as assigned to support efficient department operations
