MRI Technologist - New Haven, Connecticut

Key Qualifications:

• Current certification or registry in MRI Technology (ARRT MRI or ARMRIT)
• Experience operating MRI scanners and knowledge of imaging protocols
• Strong understanding of safety practices related to MRI, including patient screening and emergency response
• Ability to communicate compassionately with patients to explain procedures and alleviate concerns
• Experience with PACS and electronic medical records preferred
• Flexibility to adapt to varying patient acuity and workflow demands
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform high-quality MRI scans according to physician orders and departmental protocols
• Screen patients for safety and suitability, explaining procedures to ensure comfort and cooperation
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and fellow technologists to coordinate imaging services
• Monitor equipment for optimal function, and promptly report malfunctions or safety concerns
• Maintain accurate records of performed procedures within the hospital’s documentation systems
• Provide technical guidance or assistance to new staff or students as needed
• Adhere to infection control, quality assurance, and safety policies at all times
