Qualifications and Experience:

  • Registered or registry-eligible MRI Technologist (ARRT MRI or equivalent certification preferred)
  • Completion of an accredited MRI Technology program
  • Prior experience operating MRI equipment in a healthcare environment
  • Strong understanding of cross-sectional anatomy and imaging principles
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to patient safety and comfort

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate MRI scanners and related equipment to perform diagnostic imaging procedures as prescribed by physicians
  • Prepare and position patients for scans, ensuring safety and comfort throughout the process
  • Monitor patients during scans and recognize any signs of distress or adverse reactions
  • Review images for clarity, ensuring technical quality before submitting to radiologists
  • Maintain accurate records, including documentation of procedures and patient interactions
  • Follow hospital protocols for infection control and equipment maintenance
  • Provide clear explanations to patients and answer questions regarding the imaging process
  • Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals for efficient patient management
