Key Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB or ARRT-N), with current registration
  • Proven experience operating PET/CT and advanced nuclear medicine equipment
  • Proficiency in dose preparation and administration, image processing, and quality control procedures
  • Strong understanding of radiation safety protocols for patient and staff protection
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and imaging software systems
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a patient-centered approach to care
  • NYS licensure or eligibility as required for imaging technologists

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform high-quality nuclear medicine and PET/CT scans to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Verify patient identity and medical history prior to procedures; explain processes to ensure patient comfort and compliance
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately
  • Monitor patient vital signs during imaging and observe for possible adverse reactions
  • Maintain detailed, accurate records of procedures and patient information
  • Ensure imaging equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and operated in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to support integrated patient care
  • Participate in continuing education and training activities to maintain licensure and skills
