Key Qualifications:
- Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB or ARRT-N), with current registration
- Proven experience operating PET/CT and advanced nuclear medicine equipment
- Proficiency in dose preparation and administration, image processing, and quality control procedures
- Strong understanding of radiation safety protocols for patient and staff protection
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and imaging software systems
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a patient-centered approach to care
- NYS licensure or eligibility as required for imaging technologists
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality nuclear medicine and PET/CT scans to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
- Verify patient identity and medical history prior to procedures; explain processes to ensure patient comfort and compliance
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately
- Monitor patient vital signs during imaging and observe for possible adverse reactions
- Maintain detailed, accurate records of procedures and patient information
- Ensure imaging equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and operated in compliance with regulatory standards
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to support integrated patient care
- Participate in continuing education and training activities to maintain licensure and skills
