Key Qualifications:

  • Valid certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology (CNMT or ARRT-N)
  • Active state licensure (if required)
  • Proven experience operating nuclear medicine equipment (including SPECT, PET, and gamma cameras)
  • Ability to prepare and administer radioactive isotopes
  • Thorough knowledge of radiation safety practices and protocols
  • Strong detail orientation and technical troubleshooting abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective patient communication and care
  • BLS certification (required), ACLS preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of diagnostic nuclear medicine imaging procedures as ordered by physicians
  • Review patient medical histories and interpret physician instructions to ensure appropriate procedures
  • Accurately administer radiopharmaceuticals and monitor the patient throughout the procedure
  • Operate and calibrate imaging equipment while ensuring safety and image quality
  • Process and analyze images, providing clear, detailed results to radiologists and medical staff
  • Maintain accurate records of procedures and adhere to all HIPAA regulations
  • Observe and implement radiation protection measures for patient and staff safety
  • Participate in ongoing education and compliance training
