Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Hayward, CA

This contract role offers the opportunity to perform a full spectrum of nuclear medicine procedures on patients of all ages, ensuring high standards for diagnostic accuracy, patient safety, and compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Schedule/Hours:

• Contract position with variable hours depending on department needs.

Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in a relevant field such as diagnostic imaging or nuclear medicine.
• At least one year of progressive, directly related experience in Nuclear Medicine.
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• California Nuclear Medicine Technology certification (RHN) from the CA Department of Public Health-Radiologic Health Branch.
• One of the following: Registered Technologist - Nuclear Medicine (ARRT[N] or CNMT certification).
• Proficient in diagnostic and specialized imaging procedures, equipment calibration, and patient positioning.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Clear understanding of radiation safety regulations and image processing.

Responsibilities:

• Perform all Nuclear Medicine procedures with varied imaging equipment, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
• Prepare, administer, and properly dispose of radiopharmaceuticals in alignment with State and Federal regulations.
• Schedule and prioritize imaging studies, collaborating with physicians and department leadership.
• Educate and assist radiology students and resident staff, providing ongoing instruction in protocols and safety.
• Maintain thorough records for radiopharmaceutical management, equipment calibration, and patient cases.
• Troubleshoot and escalate equipment or safety issues as needed.
• Respond rapidly and appropriately to emergency situations and patient needs.
• Support staff development and help create a positive department culture.

$2,935 - $3,094/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 40 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
