Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Active certification by ARRT or NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board)
  • Current BLS certification
  • 1 or more years of nuclear medicine experience, preferably in a Level 1 Trauma setting
  • Radiology license in Illinois (candidates with a pending license in progress will be considered)
  • Proficient in conducting a variety of nuclear medicine procedures with attention to accuracy and patient safety
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively in interdisciplinary teams

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform nuclear medicine imaging using radiopharmaceuticals according to physician orders and established protocols
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely, monitoring for any adverse effects
  • Operate and maintain nuclear medicine equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and safety standards
  • Document procedures accurately in patient records and imaging systems
  • Uphold strict adherence to radiation safety and patient privacy
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and support staff to deliver high-quality diagnostic results
  • Guide and educate patients before, during, and after procedures to ensure comfort and understanding
