This role involves performing specialized technical procedures in Nuclear Medicine, requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Expertise in Nuclear Medicine instrumentation, including gamma cameras (planar and SPECT), PET, radiation detectors, dose calibrators, and quality control practices, is essential. Knowledge of radiation safety, patient and occupational exposure, dosimetry, and ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles is critical. Candidates must also be familiar with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) guidelines related to handling, administering, and transporting radioactive materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inject and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely; assay activities and calculate volume and concentration per established protocols.
  • Maintain accurate dose tracking records and perform laboratory preparation and quality control for radiopharmaceutical kits and unit doses.
  • Position patients according to nuclear medicine protocols, monitor acquisition parameters, and oversee patient safety during procedures.
  • Demonstrate IV access skills, using proper site selection and aseptic techniques.
  • Operate nuclear medicine instrumentation efficiently and conduct required quality control checks on all devices.
  • Comply rigorously with radiation safety regulations.

  • Proficient in Nuclear Medicine instrumentation and radiation safety principles.
  • Skilled in patient positioning and care during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Experienced in IV access and aseptic technique.
  • Thorough understanding of NRC standards and ALARA guidelines.
