Nuclear Medicine Technologist in Palo Alto, CA

Deliver high-quality patient care and support diagnostic outcomes by performing a comprehensive range of nuclear medicine procedures for patients of all ages. In this engaging contract position, you’ll utilize advanced imaging equipment, prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals in compliance with stringent safety protocols, and contribute to a collaborative clinical environment. Essential Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in a relevant field, such as diagnostic imaging or nuclear medicine
• Minimum of 1 year of progressively responsible and related experience in nuclear medicine technology
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• California Nuclear Medicine Technology certification (RHN, CDPH-RHB)
• One of the following: Registered Technologist - Nuclear Medicine (ARRT-N) or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT, NMTCB)
• Skilled in performing general and specialized diagnostic imaging procedures adhering to established protocols
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, fostering collaboration in multi-disciplinary teams
• Strong knowledge of imaging safety, equipment positioning, processing, and development principles
• Experience with relevant computer systems and software for imaging data management

Core Responsibilities:

• Perform all nuclear medicine procedures, ensuring diagnostic quality and compliance with safety regulations
• Prepare, calibrate, and administer radiopharmaceuticals under guidance
• Monitor, test, and maintain imaging equipment; escalate repairs promptly
• Schedule and prioritize imaging studies in line with clinical needs
• Educate radiology students, residents, and staff on techniques, safety, and protocols
• Maintain accurate records, charge documentation, and compliance with privacy standards
• Respond to patient needs, provide procedure explanations, and offer post-exam instructions
• Support continuous improvement and uphold ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles
