Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) - Piedmont, Alabama

Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
• Current certification by ARRT (N) and/or NMTCB, or eligibility to obtain
• Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Demonstrated expertise in nuclear medicine procedures, imaging protocols, and radiation safety standards
• Proficiency with industry-standard nuclear medicine equipment and imaging software
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and technical troubleshooting skills
• Excellent interpersonal communication for effective patient and team interactions
• Adherence to confidentiality, quality control, and infection prevention procedures

Responsibilities:

• Perform a broad range of nuclear medicine imaging studies, including but not limited to PET, SPECT, and planar imaging, as ordered by physicians
• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals accurately following safety guidelines
• Operate cameras, imaging equipment, and associated technology to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
• Maintain detailed documentation for exams, patient interactions, and inventory of radioactive materials
• Provide patient education and address questions or concerns related to procedures
• Ensure strict compliance with radiation protection, applicable state and federal regulations, and facility protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, and healthcare providers to deliver optimal patient outcomes
• Participate in ongoing training and continuing education to maintain and improve competencies
