Nuclear Medicine Technologist in Sunnyvale, CA

In this contract role, you will perform a full spectrum of Nuclear Medicine procedures for patients of all ages, collaborating closely with physicians, technologists, and healthcare teams.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of one year of directly related Nuclear Medicine experience
• Associate degree in diagnostic imaging, nuclear medicine, or related field
• California Nuclear Medicine Technology certification (RHN, CDPH-RHB)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA
• Registered Technologist - Nuclear Medicine (ARRT-N) or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT, NMTCB)
• Skillful communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Proficient with imaging equipment, patient/equipment positioning, and image processing
• Strong knowledge of medical imaging principles, safety standards, and privacy regulations
• Capable of quickly responding to emergencies and identifying equipment issues

Responsibilities:

• Perform and document Nuclear Medicine studies, ensuring consistency and diagnostic accuracy
• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals according to all safety and regulatory standards
• Calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain imaging equipment, promptly addressing any issues
• Collaborate on scheduling, prioritization, and streamlining workflow for timely care
• Record and report equipment malfunctions, patient safety concerns, or abnormal findings
• Educate and guide students and staff on procedures, safety, and equipment use
• Maintain thorough records of radiopharmaceutical usage and comply with federal/state guidelines
• Explain exams to patients and families, provide reassurance, and address questions compassionately
• Foster a positive department environment and promote ongoing learning

$2,935 - $3,094/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 40 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
