Perform radiologic imaging procedures under Radiologist supervision, specializing in ER and OR settings. Utilize advanced equipment including GE, Carestream, and OEC C-Arms to provide high-quality diagnostic images, primarily for trauma patients across all age groups. Apply expertise in portable radiography and trauma care within a fast-paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform radiologic exams following physician orders, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy.
- Prepare patients by explaining procedures and assessing clinical data.
- Operate and manually control imaging equipment to capture optimal diagnostic images.
- Administer intravenous contrast media and monitor for adverse reactions when applicable.
- Implement radiation protection practices to minimize exposure (ALARA).
- Manage sterile setups and maintain equipment and supply readiness.
- Document procedures accurately in medical and radiology information systems (RIS, PACS).
- Collaborate with Radiologists to verify clinical protocols and resolve image issues.
- Support and mentor new staff and students as needed.
- Uphold team standards including clear communication and professionalism.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- ARRT - RT certification required.
- Minimum 2 years of radiologic tech experience.
- Experience in Level I or II Trauma in environments such as ER, inpatient/outpatient (IP/OP), or OR.
- Proficiency with GE, Carestream, OEC C-Arms, and Cerner software.
- Comfortable performing portable X-rays on young and geriatric populations.
Schedule & Location:
- Contract position for 26 weeks.
- Work schedule: Monday-Friday, 5 to 8-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM with every other weekend rotation.
- No on-call or block scheduling.
- Interviews conducted via MS Teams or phone, lasting approximately 15 minutes, with hiring managers and lead techs.
