An excellent opportunity is available for a skilled Radiology Technologist experienced in X-ray procedures. This contract role is ideal for professionals with a solid background in hospital-based imaging who thrive in a dynamic, Level III Trauma Center environment.
Schedule:
- 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Every other weekend rotation
Required Qualifications:
- Current ARRT (R) certification and BLS certification
- Minimum of 6 months’ experience as a Radiologic Technologist
- Demonstrated proficiency in OR, ER, portable, and general radiology procedures
- Strong reliability, dependability, and outstanding patient care skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a full range of radiologic procedures at a high standard under the direction of a Radiologist
- Prepare and educate patients for imaging examinations, explaining procedures and addressing questions
- Review requisition data, obtain relevant patient medical history, and carry out appropriate examinations
- Set up procedure rooms with necessary supplies and ensure equipment is prepared and safe for use
- Analyze anatomical structures, position patients, and operate radiology equipment to obtain diagnostic images
- Administer intravenous contrast media when required, monitor for reactions, and provide responsive care
- Apply principles of radiation protection, including shielding and ALARA techniques
- Maintain infection control protocols and replenish supplies as necessary
- Accurately document procedures and patient care actions in required records, PACS, and RIS systems
- Assist with training or mentoring new hires and radiology students, as appropriate
- Communicate effectively within the team and uphold high standards of professionalism and patient confidentiality
