Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) or equivalent credential required
- Demonstrated expertise in general ultrasound imaging, including abdominal, OB/GYN, and small parts studies
- Strong knowledge of ultrasound equipment operation, safety procedures, and imaging quality standards
- Excellent communication and patient-interaction skills to create a comfortable, supportive environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality general ultrasound procedures according to provider orders and departmental protocols
- Prepare, position, and educate patients prior to and during imaging examinations
- Accurately review, record, and process images for physician interpretation
- Maintain and operate ultrasound equipment, ensuring functionality and cleanliness
- Adhere to infection control guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
- Communicate effectively with medical staff regarding exam results, findings, and any urgent considerations
