Join a dynamic healthcare setting as an Ultrasound Technologist supporting a newly opened, state-of-the-art free-standing emergency department specializing in urgent care needs. This facility features a 10-bed ED with 24/7 on-site imaging services including X-ray, CT, and ultrasound, serving an average of 15 emergency visits daily with about 5 ultrasound studies performed each day.
Located in Charlotte's Ballantyne area, this contract position offers the opportunity to work with advanced ultrasound equipment such as Siemens Sequoias and Trophon, alongside integrated systems including EPIC, Epic Radiant RIS, and Philips iSite PACS. The role involves comprehensive ED ultrasound imaging as well as performing additional tasks like vital signs, EKGs, patient sitting, and assisting with patient transport and rooming under a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of ultrasound technologist experience; first-time travelers are welcome
- Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Sonography
- Active BLS certification
- Ability and willingness to perform supportive tasks outside imaging, including general vitals, sitter duties, and EKGs
- Strong teamwork skills and adaptable to floating between two nearby sites during night shifts
Responsibilities:
- Provide general emergency department ultrasound imaging
- Support diagnostic and transport duties to enhance patient flow
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in the department
- Use advanced imaging technology and maintain compliance with EMR and PACS systems
