Step into an essential role in a dynamic emergency department, utilizing your expertise in ultrasound to provide critical diagnostic services for acute care patients. Schedule/Hours
- Shifts may include support for night shifts, with floating to additional free-standing emergency department sites as needed.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum two years’ recent experience as an Ultrasound Technologist or Sonographer.
- Certification: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (S).
- Current BLS certification.
- General emergency department ultrasound proficiency.
- Willingness to perform and learn non-imaging clinical duties (vital signs, EKG, patient rooming, lab assistance, and sitter responsibilities).
- Experience with Epic EMR, Radiant, and Philips iSite PACS systems preferred.
- First-time travelers with the required background encouraged to apply.
- Note: Applicants’ permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the assignment location.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality general ultrasound imaging for emergency department patients.
- Assist with patient rooming, vital sign collection, initiating lines/labs, and supporting psych patients as a sitter when needed.
- Collaborate with staff across modalities, maintaining a focus on patient care and departmental support.
- Aid in transporting or moving patients, especially when assisting CT or DX teams during high volume.
- Float to additional emergency department sites for night shift support, as required.
