Key Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of an approved Allied Health program with additional training in ultrasound
- Registered in Adult Vascular and ECHO by ARDMS or CCI
- BLS certification (AHA required)
- Two years’ experience in general ultrasound, including adult cardiac echo
- Experience scanning pediatric patients is a plus, but not required
- Knowledge of ultrasound physics, instrumentation, cardiac and vascular anatomy, and diagnostic procedures
- Ability to interact with diverse patient populations, including those with special needs or specific clinical diagnoses
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound and therapeutic procedures as ordered by physicians
- Complete adult cardiac echo assessments and other general imaging studies
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and deliver patient care plans
- Educate patients and families on procedures and care processes
- Operate a variety of imaging systems and related monitoring equipment
- Maneuver equipment for portable and bedside studies, often requiring physical agility
